Hello evreybody,

When I first entered the kitchen planning to cook,I did not even know how to make tea.Being from a telugu family settled in Tamil Nadu,I was only used to rice and dosa and other typical south indian food. Then, things changed and I fell in love with a punjabi. When we got married, realisation smacked me in the face.Apart from the fear of cooking,I had to survive on rotis and parathas when we went to visit his relatives.

I thought to myself that I'm gonna learn only south indian dishes in my house but I had another shock waiting for me.My MIL cooked only north indian dishes and as I had no idea where to start in the kitchen,I used to stand behind her and dream about my dosa and sambhar.I had'nt even learnt the English names of the spices.I did not even know that the black thing my mom put in the oil and let it splatter was mustard seeds.

Finally,it was time for my MIL to go back.I was devastated. All I knew from those days of standing behind her and watching, was to make some of the basic dishes. That too, only thearitically.I never did anything myself.I started out slowly with what i knew.My husband was a great help.He always used to appreciate my cooking, whether I for got the salt or whether I dumped an extra spoon of chilli powder.

Then,I started visiting the internet, learning all the names of vegetables, dals and spices in hindi and English. Then,I slowly tried out some recipes I read. The biggest help to me was Mr.Sanjay Thumma. We've never met but his recipe videos were my life savers. You are my guru sir and I shall always be grateful for the help you did. I shall include a link to his website for those of you stuggling out there like me.

Thus, now being a fairly good cook and confident in the kitchen,I decided to create this blog for people like me.I shall include recipes I invented or tried or learnt.I hope I can be of help to all the food lovers out there. The recipes I've decided to post are ones that I've tried. Some of them are my inventions but most of them are my discoveries. My intention is not to take credit for someone else's recipes.I just want people to locate what they are searching for.
